Friday Night in the City

Dress: Republic; Necklace: Accessorize; Tights: Target; Shoes: H&M; Belt: Vintage

I'm so excited to go out tonight and get my dance on. New dress, which was wonderfully on sale, along with nice cheap H&M shoes which I've been in search of for a while, should make the night that much better.

Please vote for Wendy's hat! She is a very fashionable bun.

Indian Silk and a Haunted Close

"Tawny Garden Dress": Anthropologie (Graduation dress....one of the more priceless things I own); Coat/Shoes/Feather Hair Clip: Urban Outfitters; Tights: Target; Cardigan: F21, Cameo: 21st Birthday gift from my daddy...bought on the Ponte Vecchio in Florence; Clutch: Vintage

Edinburgh is undeniably spooky, as these pictures clearly demonstrate. It's one of my favourite aspects of the city. Now, this "Tawny Garden Dress" you see here is my baby. Fits as though it was made specifically for me, and I love how the silk changes colours depending on the light. I also love that it's from Anthro...the only place I'd shop if money twer unlimited. On the other hand, I do adore the moccasins, which were only $10 at a street sale! It's all in the find.

In other news, the poll for Wendy's next hat experiment seems pretty close. Except for the beret....the only one who voted for it is my friend who lives in Paris. Please vote if you haven't already...though I suppose there's no rush...I allotted way too much time for that badboy.

Camera Obscura

Shorts: F21; Tights/Cardigan: Target; Vest: Urban Outfitters; Bag: Accessorize; Pin/Cuff/Scarf: Vintage; Earrings: Bella Donna; Shoes: Steve Madden (on sale for $30 at DSW...quite the find)

Also, please note my little Wendy drawings to the side. If you'd like, vote on which hat you think she should try out next. She doesn't like her hair. (just for the record, she's not quite so morbidly obese in real life. only a smidge).

Some Silly Works from Some Years Past

^my flat

^haha! I was obsessed.

^this was a gift to a boy LONG since gone....but I'm still proud of it.

I need to get in the habit of drawing more often. Taking a drawing class, as annoying as it was at the time, was actually really good for me. Kept my hand atuned. I'd like to move beyond copying things and see if I can't come up with something wacky and absurd. It's so much harder for to draw from my mind than from life...it's quite the opposite dilemma in my writing.

A Snow White Welcoming

Bretton was kind enough to take all of these for me when he went out for groceries (and I couldn't move from my bed). Jet lag really is horrendous. I did take the last one however (from my window), so at least I contributed to this post in some way.

Please note that snow is quite rare in Edinburgh...I've heard from a few natives that they haven't seen any for twenty years. It's a shame, because the city wears it so well.

Sorry for the delay in posting by the way. Seeing as neither of us have received our luggage yet (rrrrrr) it has been rather difficult to put together respectable ensembles. Fortunately, Urban Outfitters had a huge sale today and I got a very cute clubbing dress which I will have pictures of later tonight.

Now to make some breaded lemon/spinach chicken with brown rice for a special dinner....

My Bunny Got a New Pen and Tube from Santa

Her name is Wendelin.
She is very judgmental.
I miss her lots.

Eve of a Journey

Shoes: Modcloth; Gloves/Socks/Camisole/Cardigan: Target (I have such a Target obsession...what can I say?); Belt/Skirt: F21; Headband: feathers add on by me during some craft time.

Mama and I went to Target and the mall today before my trip back to Scotland tomorrow. Find of the day was that the Yellow Roos I've been coveting for months were marked down from $58 to $19. Now I can climb Arthur's Seat....uuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuggh. I am not in shape. At all. Hmmm....I bought a lot of yellow items today it seems. Yellow means insanity...not a good sign.

The House Sleeps and I Come Awake

Scarf: Express; Shirt: Urban Outfitters; Skirt/tights: Target; Boots: Vintage

Today my mother and I stormed Sephora. I finally got myself some liquid eyeliner and went all kinds of 60s fabulous. Every girl (and some boys) loves playing with make-up. Please note the lovely REAL glass coated flower earrings my father got me for Christmas years back. Nicely done, daddy.

Crafting consumed the rest of my day, as you can see. I missed journal making so.

'Then I Shall Have to Make You Wings'

These new ventures in blog fashion pictures have been most rewarding. I get to organize my style in a whole new form. The headband is my favourite of all the items seen here. Brett gave it to me for graduation, and while I know the forehead headbands have become a hipster cliche of late, I must say that I've desired one since seeing 'Ever After' as a young, impressionable, future fashionista. I'm sure many girls know the object to which I'm referring quite well. In any case I find this piece very classy and non-hipstery. I'd like to try my hand at making them with Danielle, though my last attempts at accessory crafting with her were abysmal, to say the very least.

Coat, Boots, Head band: Urban Outfitters; Shirt: Target; Belt: Vintage; Necklace: Random Vintage Costume Jewelry I found in the basement; Skirt: April Cornell
