The Everlasting Emerald Heel

I'm so excited that my Everlasting Emerald Heels from Modcloth came in the mail today! As soon as I saw them I knew I had to have them. I mean, not only are brogue heels my jam, but I have a mild obsession with dark green velvet. I'd love to wear them with a Halloween costume, but I have no idea what to be. Any suggestions you guys have would be greatly appreciated...for the first time I'm really at a loss here. I'm pretty surprised how comfortable these bad boys are, so I think they'd be really appropriate for some All Hallow's Eve shenanigans. Help me out!

Fields of Twilight Blue

I hope you guys like my new layout! I've been meaning to use this template design thing for ages, but just hadn't gotten around to it. I really should have done it ages ago....I love how it came out.

The massive purple skirt in this post actually spent almost a year on the porch of my Vermont college apartment, braving the elements. I'm not sure why I didn't motivate and bring in the damn thing, but it actually warped the fabric in a really cool way. And the color is a bit dulled, which suits my pallet more.

I think I'll spend the rest of my rainy, fall, unemployed day working on hair clips for my Etsy. Cup of tea and big Edinburgh sweatshirt essential.

Wendell Does "Diggies"

Wrapped in Bones of Setting Sun

Today I went on my first New England photo shoot venture with Danielle of Little Alaska. It's so interesting to see how personal photographic perspectives vary, even if the differences are minute. We had a blast laughing and frolicking in this woodland park, and I love the little touches she added to my post.

The other successful aspect of this outing was that I actually had a sizable wardrobe to work with, rather than the measly two suitcases I possessed in Scotland. The thrifted leather camera case/purse was sorely missed.

Ode to Wendell

Wendell is my Netherland Dwarf rabbit (formerly Wendelin....apparently I was misinformed). He's too cute for words and is rather sassy.

Don't Sit Under the Apple Tree with Anyone Else but Me

I've been waiting to showcase this dress for so long, and now that I'm home I finally can. My Nana pulled it, among many other dresses, out of a cedar trunk when I went to visit her a few years ago. It's hand-made, silk, and circa the early 1960s. It's as though it was pulled right out of an episode of Mad Men! The purse, another favorite that didn't make it to Scotland, was my mother's at her Christening. Quite the vintage look.

Today is my town fair, and the weather couldn't be more perfect. I'm so excited to eat fried dough, go on the ferris wheel, and check out the animal and produce displays (especially in the bunny barn). Happy Autumn, everyone!

You can buy the hair clip, hand-made by me, on my new Etsy! Check it out!

Trying My Hand at Etsy

So I motivated and finally started an Etsy account for my hair clips. I only have one up right now because my photographer (Button) doesn't get here until tomorrow. I'd love any suggestions my fellow bloggers have for me, and I'd certainly take requests, if you have them. It's a bit intimidating to put my work out there, but Etsy is such a positive community.

Expect a full fashion post soon! It won't be full of castles and medieval architecture like usual, but a New England autumn ain't so bad.
